Self-Shielded
As the first-in-kind “vault-free” radiosurgery system, ZAP-X obviates the need for costly and complex radiation bunkers. Enabling simple department expansions, ZAP-X now also makes radiosurgery feasible for point of care delivery at virtually any location—including satellite facilities, physician offices and ambulatory surgery centers.
LINAC-Based
Using state-of-the-art linear accelerator (LINAC) technology, ZAP-X uniquely provides diverse non-coplanar radiation dose delivery while eliminating the need for live radioactive sources. No more costly source replacements, and no more ongoing regulatory and security burden.
Safety Innovation
With the high dose requirements of radiosurgery, error prevention and patient safety cannot be overstated. With that understanding, ZAP-X provides a novel, fully-integrated dosimetry validation system that monitors and verifies delivered radiation in real time.

Professor of Neurosurgery and Radiation Oncology at Stanford University, John R. Adler, MD, is the co-inventor of ZAP-X and a renowned pioneer in the field of radiosurgery. Inventor of the CyberKnife® System and founder of Accuray, Inc., Dr. Adler’s life work is focused on finding smarter solutions for physicians and their patients. In 2018, Dr. Adler was awarded the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) Cushing Award for Technical Excellence and Innovation in Neurosurgery.
